It's never too late: A short inspo blog!
It's NEVER too late to start something new!
Whatever it is, regardless of how old you (think) you are, regardless if others have accomplished more or if you tried before but failed multiple times, it's never too late to start something new!
A lot of people don't know this about me, but I was 30 years old when I got on a plane for the first time. THIRTY! It took 30 years of my life to have a desire to catch a plane. Not because I was scared, but because I had no reason to.
If I listened to others who said they'd been flying since they were 3 or they'd been on 40 flights by the time they were 18, I wouldn't be the traveler I am today. It can be discouraging learning that someone your age or younger, has done more, seen more or lived more than you, but you have to remember that THEIR story isn't YOUR story and vice versa.
If I believed that it was "unsafe" to travel or settled on the idea that traveling was too expensive, I would've never gotten started. If I'd listened to people who asked "why would you want to go there?" or "they're killing people over there!" I would've just stayed home in an imaginary safe bubble and never did anything.
But the truth is, nowhere is safe. People are being killed everyday all around the world. But you can't let that stop you from doing what you want. You can be killed right here, at home, while doing nothing. It doesn't take traveling to help you realize this.
Whenever you attempt to do something different, people will talk. They'll hate, they'll laugh, they'll ridicule-- but keep going. Because once you succeed, they'll ask how you did it, they'll want you to teach them and sometimes they might even be jealous that you did it. Do it anyway. Not for them, for you!
In 4 years, I've been to 22 countries on 4 continents. I've seen 4 of 7 great wonders of the world and all it took was for me to try something new, at 30 years old.
The point is-- it's never too late to start something new. Don't be held back by fear, by circumstances, by peer pressure or societal standards. Don't be afraid to fail. If you're not failing, you're not trying. Comfort zones can be both beautiful and dangerous at the same time. You'd be amazed at what you can accomplish when you step out of the comfort zone and into the confidence zone. We can all achieve the greatness our hearts desire. But first you have to start!
