Experiences vs. Expenses of Traveling

Updated: Dec 4, 2020

I hear a lot of people say that they want to travel, but they simply can't afford it. With bills, rent, car note, kids, etc... Traveling usually just isn't in the budget. However, the truth is- traveling is more affordable than your rent and bills every month, you just have to know how to do it. Planning and saving are major advantages to traveling. Plan ahead of time, and save up for it. Put aside an $50-$100 a month and watch your dreams of traveling the world become a reality. Saving for traveling is no different than saving up to buy a car, or a new pair of shoes. You set aside a certain amount of money from each paycheck, and don't touch it under any circumstance.

When it comes to traveling- it's not about the money you spend or how much it's going to cost you. It's about the life changing experiences you get in return. From the people you meet, the friends you make, and the journeys you go on, to the opportunities to expand your entire

lifestyle. Who knows what adventures you can have through traveling? "A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions." - Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.

Let's face it, your bills will never stop coming for as long as you have them. You'll never be able to skip a rent or mortgage payment in order to travel the world. Priorities come first in all cases! This is why it's important to plan for what you want. A $500-$1,500 vacation becomes more and more attainable when you learn to hold onto $100 a month. A passport cost less than your $5 a day Starbucks latte. A plane ticket to Hawaii is cheaper than the latest iPhone. Many of the monthly expenses you have are what's keeping you from traveling, not your rent... The same money you put into your cable bill, cell phone bill, eating out, clothes, and shoes are the real reason why you can't afford to travel. Don't let what you have keep you from doing what you want.

If there's one thing I can inspire or encourage people to do with their lives, it's travel. It's one of the most priceless experiences you can ever give yourself. You cannot go wrong with the education you receive through traveling. It makes your life more rich than any amount of money ever can. Don't sell yourself short for material things. Instead, enrich your soul through the experience of traveling the world! You deserve it!
